Verifiable approval

ReNaPDiS registration No. 292 in the name of MEDICAI S.A.S, registered as a Recetario, HL7 FHIR standard. Check it yourself on the official list of Argentina's National Ministry of Health (link below).

Electronic signature with a second factor

Each prescription is signed with a SHA-256 seal that covers all of its data and records the date and time of signing. Signing and issuing require the second factor (MFA): without the code from your authenticator app, no prescription goes out.

QR code and public verification

The prescription carries a QR code, a traceability ID and a barcode. The pharmacy or the patient verifies it at medicai.com.ar/verificar-receta, with no username or password.

Part of the health record

You issue it from the patient's chart: medication by generic name (INN) with an optional suggested brand, dosage form and strength, quantity, dose, directions and an ICD-10 diagnosis. Repeat the last prescription or save templates.

Frequently asked questions

Is MedicAI approved by Argentina's Ministry of Health to issue electronic prescriptions?

Yes. MedicAI is approved by Argentina's National Ministry of Health and listed in its ReNaPDiS (National Registry of Digital Health Platforms), with registration No. 292, legal name MEDICAI S.A.S, registered as a Recetario (an e-prescription platform) and using the HL7 FHIR standard. Its filing number in the Registry of Electronic Prescription Platforms is RL-2026-75170116-APN-SSVEIYES#MS and it appears at the bottom of every prescription. You can check it on the official list: https://www.argentina.gob.ar/salud/digital/renapdis/plataformas-aprobadas-por-el-ministerio-de-salud-de-la-nacion

How does the pharmacy verify that the prescription is authentic?

Each prescription carries a QR code, a unique traceability ID and a barcode. By scanning the QR code, or entering the ID at https://www.medicai.com.ar/verificar-receta, the pharmacy or the patient can confirm that the prescription was issued through MedicAI, which professional with a verified medical license (matrícula) signed it and when, and whether it was cancelled. Verification is public: no account or password needed.

Is it a digital signature or an electronic signature?

An electronic signature. Each prescription is signed with a SHA-256 seal that covers all of its data and records the date and time of signing; only a professional with a verified license and an active second authentication factor can sign it. It is not a digital signature (firma digital) backed by a certificate from a licensed certification authority. The prescription's validity comes from the professional's license and signature; the platform's registration in the ReNaPDiS is the requirement that Law 27.553 and its regulations set for electronic prescription platforms.

Do I need a verified medical license or MFA to prescribe?

Yes, both. MedicAI verifies the professional's license (REFEPS code) before enabling prescribing, and asks for the TOTP second factor (Google Authenticator, Authy or similar) to sign and issue each prescription. Without a verified license you can use the rest of the platform, but you can't prescribe.

What information does the prescription include?

Number, issue date and a validity of 30 calendar days ("Válida hasta", valid until); medication by generic name (INN, Law 25.649) with an optional suggested brand name, dosage form and strength, quantity, dose and directions; an ICD-10 coded diagnosis; full prescriber details (license, REFEPS code, address and contact information, as required by Law 17.132); an electronic signature with a SHA-256 seal covering all of the prescription's data, with date and time; a QR code, traceability ID and barcode; and MedicAI's filing number in the Registry of Electronic Prescription Platforms. If the patient has an email address on file, they receive it as a PDF by email; you can also download or print it. If you cancel it, it is recorded as cancelled.

Is MedicAI the same as medicai.io or medicai.live?

No. MedicAI (medicai.com.ar, MEDICAI S.A.S, Argentina) is not related to Medicai (medicai.io, PACS/radiology), MedicAI.live (transcription) or Medicaia (ZCX SRL, ReNaPDiS No. 231). In the ReNaPDiS, MedicAI is listed under registration No. 292.
